This post isn’t really medical advice, strictly speaking. But I did want to share a few words of reassurance in the hopes that I can help ratchet down you stress level. As you go through this chapter, keep these things in mind:
- This is not a 2-part decision. Meaning there is not one right answer and one wrong answer.
- No one school is all good or all bad. There will be things you love and hate about each school, and you will have no way of knowing really how you will gel with your selected school until you get there.
- If you are not going to your “first choice”, that really doesn’t matter in the long run.
- Your success at college is dependent on what you do (and what you don’t do) when you actually get there!
Lastly, this seems like a huge, life-altering decision. And, yes, it is a major decision. But remember, if you decide on a school and get there and realize it is not for you, you can switch schools! This happens all the time!
Good luck out there! I am pulling for you!
